GTA 6: Red Flag for Xbox Players

"Strauss Zelnick confirmed GTA 6 will launch in Autumn 2025 and won’t be available on subscription services like Xbox Game Pass at launch, focusing on long-term strategy over short-term gains."

GTA 6 Red Flag for Console Gamers

One of the most anticipated video games, GTA 6, is now nearing its release date and has gained significant popularity following the recent Take-Two Interactive earnings call. CEO Strauss Zelnick provided an update on GTA Online's User Generated Content (UGC) and stated that Rockstar Games has been working diligently on GTA 6. He also reconfirmed that the game will be released in Autumn 2025, dispelling rumors of any delays.

GTA 6 on Subscription Services

As we know, Activision has been working on the next title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is set to release in September 2024. They announced that COD Black Ops 6 will be available on XBOX Game Pass for players who want to play the game on day one. This is great news for gamers, as they won’t have to wait to go to the store and buy the game, unlike in traditional gaming times.

COD BO6 Game Pass

Boss Strauss Zelnick spoke to GamesIndustry.biz, stating that this is just a short-term benefit for subscription services. He warned that gamers may face difficulties in the future because they could lose access to the game after some time, as subscription services are not permanent.

Although Call Of Duty Might Boost Game Pass "For A Period Of Time', Take-Two Still Won't Put Its New Games Into The Service Because It Makes Rational Decisions. -- Strauss Zelnick

He also said that offering a premium-priced game title in a subscription service on day one will attract consumers to that service, but only for a limited period.

GTA 6: No Plans to Change Their Mind

According to Strauss Zelnick, they won't be changing their minds because they don't launch game titles for short-term benefits. It's a rational business decision over temporary gains. So, Zelnick won't change his mind in response to the COD Black Ops news, as his decisions are rational.

Conclusion

According to Zelnick's statement, this might be disappointing news for GTA fans and gamers. They've waited almost 12 years for this upcoming title and would prefer to play it on day one. This could be seen as a red flag for console players.
